There’s really not much to say.  Starfleet is basically a sub-space portal used by a group of individuals from all walks of life who share common interests.  We have no idea what the common interests are, but they’re bound to be there if one digs deep enough.  It might be as simple as having no measurable sense of humour.  That being said, surprisingly enough, we do share a common email address domain.
